My Unique Genius

I am able to make my patients feel comfortable and well cared for while using my analytical brain to give them the best dermatologic care possible.

My Unique Genius includes intuition and environment. I thrive when I get to talk to people and learn more about who they are.

WHAT IS YOUR

UNIQUE GENIUS?

BecomeInterested

how did you become interested in this career?

MY COLLEGE CLASS INSPIRED ME

I did not know I wanted to do this with my life. I had no idea what I was good enough at. It wasn't until I took a horticulture class in college where I had that "aha" moment. It was the first subject that I excelled in and was fascinated by. I was so eager to learn more.

SkillsItTakes

WHAT SKILLS DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT YOUR JOB?

LEARNING FROM LOVED ONES

I have learned the most that I know today from my family. My dad, mom, and my three siblings each have vastly different traits and knowledge. I have taken different advice and noted different successes and failures from all of them to get where I am today.

Wish You Knew

I am able to make my patients feel comfortable and well cared for while using my analytical brain to give them the best dermatologic care possible.

WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU KNEW WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?

BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAM

I wish I knew that whatever dream I had when I was younger could actually be achieved. Growing up, I always said I wanted to be a Park Ranger, but nobody took me seriously. Anything you think is interesting can become a life path. That made choosing a major in college extremely difficult from what I had been told my whole life.

Most Proud

I am able to make my patients feel comfortable and well cared for while using my analytical brain to give them the best dermatologic care possible.

WHAT'S NEXT IN YOUR JOURNEY?

KEEP LEARNING

I hope to one day complete a master's program in Plant Sciences to study trees and develop landscape plants for our yards.

Coolest

WHAT'S THE COOLEST PART OF YOUR JOB?

WORKING WITH MY TEAM

[The best part of my job is the] people I work with. My bosses and coworkers are all some of the best people I have ever met in my life. Everyone is different and brings constant entertainment to my day.

Challenging

WHAT'S THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF YOUR JOB?

DESIRE TO BE OUTSIDE ALL DAY

One aspect of my work that is challenging is [the] balance between my administration duties and doing the physical work. It is hard for me to sit at a computer all day for a long time when the fresh air is calling me.

1Thing

WHAT'S 1 THING PEOPLE DON'T KNOW OR UNDERSTAND ABOUT YOUR JOB?

MENTAL HEALTH BENEFITS

Most people don't know that my field of work is so healing. You get to be outside for your job and working out—all while getting paid!

Defining Moment

WHAT WAS A DEFINING MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE?

DISCOVERY HORTICULTURE MAJOR

A defining moment in my life was when I discovered Horticulture as a college major. I took a community college plant propagation course with a friend of mine and for the first time in my life I felt motivated to learn about a topic. I dove deep into the realm of horticulture, transferred to a university, got a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Management, and discovered my obsession with trees and plant sciences!
